I was actually trying to get some pics of him waving, since he started doing that the past few days, but hey- clapping works too!

There is a bit of a wave in the bottom corner though...

Zoo Baby

We used our new membership and went to Elmwood Park Zoo yesterday. Mom's friends from school- and future colleagues ;) - Erica and Anita, came along for the trip. Alex had a blast, but I think the four of us had the most fun- our grins were just as big! I hope the staff can remember our names, 'cause we are definitely going to be there all the time.
Too many great pictures to post, so blow up the collage to get a better look. And, as you may have noticed, cabspace no longer exists (shaking my fist at the screen, apparently, does not call it back into existence). My computer is bursting at the seams with pics to upload, so we are in the process of finding a more reliable, and hopefully permanent, hosting site. We can't wait to share them with everyone, so we'll send and post the link as soon as we have one. Stay tuned...

A Day at the Park

Alex's first time at the park! Last week we took the Oktomat with us and walked a few blocks over to Elmwood Park to play for a bit. He had a good time playing on the playground. Then we walked a bunch more blocks to Elmwood Park Zoo and got ourselves a membership. I know we will put that to great use! On the way back home, we met the horse that gives pony rides at the zoo.

Book Worm

Alex got some new books in the mail today. Some of his favorites- textures and baby faces! Of course, the box they came in is always more fun!

8 month update...
Claps all the time, especially when we say 'yay'.
Shakes his head no (not sure if he's connected the meaning yet, but he really trips us out sometimes when we ask him stuff!).
Smacks mom in the face when he wakes up in the morning.
Smiles for the camera! :)
Hates diaper changes and tries to escape.
Has discovered that there is something between his legs. ;)
Trying to get him to feed himself with finger foods, but the kid insists on feeding himself with a spoon! Hooray for manners, I guess.
Loves going outside and for walks in his backpack (thanks Aunt Ez!).
And who would'a thought- the kid loves dogs!

He's mobile! Alex is playing with a set of finger cymbals that our good friends Arlene and Dev brought back from Mexico for us. He loves the sound that they make!

8 Months Old

Favorite Pastimes
Crawling.
Pulling himself up.
Talking- he's pairing consonant and vowel sounds now.
Reading books- books with pictures of babies and texture are his faves.
Trying to immediately escape from the bathtub.
Playing in "his" cabinet in the kitchen.
Banging stuff.
Terrorizing the cats.
Laughing for no apparent reason.
Screeching.


Alex has figured out that the bouncer is our "container" for him and wants none of it! What used to be a sure thing is now hit or miss. Too bad for Mom and Dad...
